Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born on August 9, 1976, in Beaumont Puy of Domme. Her parents were dentists and a teacher recognised and supported her love of theatre and drama from a young age which was more important than a desire to become a primatologist due to her passion for monkeys. There was an immediate rise for her to be a famous young actress. Following her studies in 1998 she participated in the French talent-scouting TV programme Jeunes Premiers which was sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors before beginning her acting career in earnest. Tautou, who attended her school at the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris in her youth and studied there at young age she has since renounced her Catholic education. She now declares herself to be non-Catholic. She has pursued a modeling career alongside her acting career and is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel is often called the Chanel Muse. She is a keen photographer and has recently exhibited during The Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. Her work is focused on celebrities as well as popularity. The exhibition also includes a series self-portraits and a focus on journalists that have scrutinised Tautou since her meteoric success after Amelie. Audrey Tautou's worldwide popularity and success exploded following her appearance as Amelie Poulain's leading lady in Le Fabuleux Destin in the film d'Amelie. Amelie has been an international box office success and praised at many award shows around the world. It's the biggest French film in the history of French language to be made to be released in the US. In the following year, she starred in British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet The long day of the fiancailles. In the following year, she moved to Hollywood in the United States, where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
