Katherine Heigl discusses her experiences in a 'white bubble' has impacted the way that she parented her adopted family of multiracial origins. The "Firefly Lane" as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress revealed in a recent interview in regards to the color of her skin, she didn't care what she wore however, after speaking to her older sister, who was adoptive by South Korea, she realized that society was different when it came to each of them. Meg was asked if the way she was treated differed when they were out together with their parents or when they went alone. Meg replied: "Oh, sure, I've seen everything!' That made me realize that I was naive," Heigl said to her parents. She said that she was upset and believed it was important to focus the anger she felt on the adopted children she has. Heigl is the mother of a 4-year-old son and a 13-year-old spouse, Josh Kelley. In 2009, they welcomed Nancy Leigh (12), a daughter from South Korea, and Adalaide (8, a black child) in 2012.
